I tend to leave these environmental conferences with mixed emotions. Part of me is bummed out because of the uphill battle we have created for ourselves as a society. But the other part of me is hopeful knowing that there are many brilliant minds working on ways to better understand and solve the problems that we have created and are contributing to research that truly helps the masses understand the impact it is having on our health. Education is the key!
I met some wonderful and intelligent doctors there, got to catch up with a couple old friends and share ideas with others in the field.
If I could share one take away with you it would be that lowering our daily environmental exposures even by a little bit can really help the burden our body is under. The factors contribute to insidious disease and vague and systemic symptoms that can sometimes make diagnosis a challenge.
For an actionable step,
Drink clean water
Eat organic foods
Use EWG.org to find good skin care products
Step away from the computer regularly
All my best,
