What it is & how it can feel
Dysbiosis describes a change in gut microbes, not a diagnosis that explains every digestive symptom.
The gut microbiome varies considerably between people. A test showing different bacteria does not, by itself, identify the cause of symptoms or indicate a specific treatment.
What we consider
We look at antibiotic use, diet, symptoms and established conditions before deciding whether any testing is useful.
We focus first on your clinical history and diagnoses such as IBS or inflammatory bowel disease rather than assigning every symptom to a microbiome result.
Care at Revive
Support may include nutrition changes and treatment of a diagnosed digestive disorder; microbiome tests are interpreted cautiously.
A practical plan can address dietary diversity and symptoms while avoiding unsupported claims about restoring a single 'ideal' microbiome.
Your visit begins with your history and the results you already have. Testing is discussed when it can answer a specific question; recommendations depend on your individual situation.
