Lab Costs
There may be lab work recommended depending on your healthcare needs. Your doctor will provide an updated Good Faith Estimate (see description below) that includes any labs needed after your initial appointment, so that you can decide whether you would like to order the labs. Generally, laboratory costs depend on the type of lab, and whether your insurance covers the cost of labs. Many specialty labs are not covered by insurance. For other labs, we will not be able to tell you what your out-of-pocket costs will be since it depends upon your insurance plan.
Supplement Costs
The cost of supplements that your doctor may recommend and any medications prescribed varies. However, you are not required to purchase supplements to receive care, and you have total control over the cost of supplements you decide to purchase.
GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE STATEMENT
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services before those items and services are provided.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, and equipment.
